Some reflections on our 20 years as a Moodle Partner since 2005.
We’re celebrating 20 years as a Moodle Partner this month. Like any partnership entering its third decade, there are plenty of stories to tell along the way — and we’re going to share some of those here.
A timeline of our 20 years as Moodle Partners
Over the past 20 years, we’ve delivered hundreds of Moodle LMS sites for our customers. There have been plenty of milestones along the way. Here are a handful of them.
Early Moodle adopters in 2005
Moodle was just three years old when we spotted its potential to help our customers deliver better learning experiences in 2005. With Moodle recognising our potential, too, we were soon awarded Moodle Certified Services Provider status.
Building long-standing relationships from 2005
We have 20-year relationships not only with Moodle but also with some of our first customers from that time. We created Moodle LMS platforms for Marie Curie and ACCA back in 2005 — and we’re still working with both organisations today.

Starting work with Goethe-Institut in 2013
Not-for-profit German cultural association Goethe-Institut chose us as the Moodle Partner to match its commitment to innovative uses of the platform. We’re still working together and still innovating.
“We need a Moodle Partner that understands how we operate,” says Goethe-Institut’s Stefan Münchow. “Synergy Learning has always given us the feeling that anything is possible; that their development team will always find the best way to achieve what we need.”
Bringing Moodle to G-Cloud in 2014
We were appointed as a trusted G-Cloud LMS supplier in 2014. This enabled us to bring Moodle platforms to public sector customers through a streamlined procurement process. We’ve held G-Cloud supplier status ever since.
Early access to Moodle Workplace in 2018
As trusted and long-standing Moodle Partners, we were one of just a handful of learning technologies companies given early access to start using Moodle Workplace ahead of its official launch.
Moodle Partner of the Year in 2019
We were named Moodle’s EMEA Partner of the Year in 2019 in recognition of our outstanding performance as Moodle Partners.
Moodle Premium Certified Partner status in 2020
Given our achievements with Moodle over the previous 15 years, we were one of the first companies to be awarded the new top-tier Moodle Premium Certified Partner status.
Using Moodle to tackle COVID-19 in 2020
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we built a Moodle Workplace platform in just six days to help deliver vital training to staff and volunteers at a Nightingale hospital.
Winning Tech For Good Project of the Year in 2022
The Moodle Workplace platform we created to deliver STEM learning to thousands of teenage girls across Europe for Girls Go Circular was named Tech For Good Project of the Year at the Digital DNA Awards.
Supporting the Special Olympics World Games in 2023
We created a Moodle Workplace LMS to deliver learning to coaches, officials and athletes taking part in the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin.

Over the past 20 years, our team has built a wealth of experience working with Moodle. In that time, they’ve seen — and contributed to — the platform’s dramatic development.

Davo is among the 1Teamers who have consistently contributed and encouraged others to deliver new Moodle features. It’s that sense of community — working together to advance and refine an open-source learning platform that benefits everyone — that is perhaps the abiding memory of our 20 years as a Moodle Partner to date.
