Explore the exciting new features available as part of Moodle Workplace 4.1.

The latest version of Moodle Workplace — Moodle Workplace 4.1 — is now available for enterprise-level organisations wanting to get even more out of their e-learning.

The new release is packed with new features that help HR and learning and development professionals to deliver better learning experiences and streamline their processes.

Let’s take a look at those features in more detail and see some of the improved functionality you’ll be able to access if you upgrade to Moodle Workplace 4.1.

Better tenant branding

Multi-tenancy has always been one of the key features of Moodle Workplace. With Moodle Workplace 4.1, it’s easier than ever to deliver on-brand experiences for each of your tenants. New advanced tenant appearance settings mean each of your tenants can have a navigation bar and primary button colour that’s in their brand colours. There are also subtle brand enhancements, such as grey tones that are automatically generated based on each tenant’s primary colour being used as accents around the platform.

Warnings for overdue learning

Moodle Workplace 4.1 allows you to send notifications and reminders to learners who are falling behind in their learning. This opportunity to quickly and efficiently issue warnings for overdue learning means you can preempt problems, increase engagement and boost compliance levels.

Improved search, filtering and reporting in Team Overview

With quick sort and filter functions, access to full progress reports for each learner, and live search functionality, it’s easier than ever to keep tabs on teams. In the Team Overview block, you can now sort and filter data quickly to find the information you need, while live search functionality gives you real-time oversight. You can also access full versions of each team member’s certification, program, and course reports for a comprehensive overview of each learner’s progress.

Simpler tenant allocation workflows

You can now allocate a user to a tenant within Shared Dynamic Rules, which will simplify the processes around tenant allocation workflows. Moodle Workplace 4.1 also has the option to set Shared Dynamic Rules based on whether a user is or isn’t allocated to a particular tenant, which makes it easier to apply rules across multiple — but not necessarily all — tenants.

Import and export custom reports

Get the data that matters to the people who need it with a new migration feature for importing and exporting custom reports. Custom Reports are now supported using Moodle LMS native report sources.

Improved My Teams functionality in the Workplace App

Keep tabs on your team on the go with improved support for My Teams — including information about learning and tracking — available in the Moodle Workplace App.

More intuitive hidden courses display

Hidden courses are revamped in Moodle Workplace 4.1 so that they’re now displayed to admins in a more helpful way on the My Courses and Program pages. An improved labelling system makes it easier for admins to keep track of which courses are hidden from learners.

Easily manage individual departments

‘Department’ has been added as a new user profile field within dynamic rules, making it even easier to mirror your organisation’s structure and manage learning accordingly. The new user profile field makes it easier to assign learning, create reports or take other actions depending on whether a user is within — or not in — particular departments.

More privacy around dynamic rules

Hide or mask the description of dynamic rules conditions and actions so only users with permission to edit them can see them. Only people who need access to edit dynamic rules can see how the rules work.

Greater control over course catalogue settings

You’ll have the option to disable the program cover page and hide dates from the course information page. Handy tick-box and dropdown options ensure you only publish the information you want to share with your learners.
